QinetiQ operates an ionospheric sounder located within the Arctic Circle at Tromso in northern Norway. The Tromso ionosonde is a vertical incidence Digisonde Portable Sounder (DPS-4) which collects ionograms every twelve minutes, providing information about the high latitude region of the ionosphere.
